Day 23: Fri 8 Jul – Rheinfelden to Basel

Ride: 35km
13-23 deg

We rode back to Basel via the Swiss side which was not very picturesque but interesting just the same mainly due to the nice houses, countryside and forests. Started out cool with drizzle and stayed that way without too much rain. Arrived in Basel for mornos at Starbucks; the first decent coffee I’d had since I started this ride!  Graham hates Starbucks. It took lots of stuffing around to find a hotel. Eventually got to the hotel, Alpha (CHF 130 ea for two nights) about 1:40pm and after checking in, we caught the tram into Basel and walked around the city. Saw things such as the Moving Fountain, Rathaus, Munster, etc. I had dinner back at the hotel in the restaurant.
