On Thursday morning I caught the train to Graham and
Sylvia Watson’s place in Hope Valley, which is in the Peaks District. Graham
always says he lives in Hope. We managed to get in a great ride around the
local area and of course stopped at his favourite coffee shop. Very old area
and very pretty, and with the temperature very pleasant it was a great outing. The next day Graham took me into Sheffield
for a day of “culture”. Saw some lovely old and new buildings in town, coffee
again, then out to Botanic Gardens for tea and cake. On the drive back to Hope
we called at his friend’s place and saw some beautiful Shire horses. They were
used to pull fancy carriages for weddings etc. It was then time to head for
home to check the gear and bikes for tomorrow’s departure.
